As our Charity Partner of the Year relationship with Red Balloons comes to a close, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on what has been an incredibly rewarding and inspiring partnership.
At Just Williams, being a force for good is an important part of who we are. As a B Corp™, we believe businesses have a responsibility to make a positive impact on the communities around them, and over the past year, working alongside Red Balloons has allowed us to do exactly that.
Throughout the partnership, we have had the privilege of spending time with the Red Balloons team, learning more about this incredible lived experience charity. Everyone involved has lived experience of poor mental health and uses that to support others – their peer support services are free and open to anyone who is over 18 and struggling with their mental health.
The year has been packed with activity. From welcoming Red Balloons to our annual conference at Wynyard Hall to taking on our Everest Expedition Challenge at Roseberry Topping, the partnership has brought together our team, clients, partners and wider network in support of a truly important cause.
We have also enjoyed hosting regular Walk & Talk sessions around Tees Barrage, supporting fundraising initiatives and spending time with the charity beyond formal events. One of the greatest benefits of charity partnerships is the opportunity to build genuine relationships, and that has certainly been the case over the past twelve months.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our team, clients, partners and supporters, together we have raised an amazing £8,305 for Red Balloons.
To put that into perspective, Red Balloons has shared that supporting one individual with their mental health costs approximately £164. The funds raised through our partnership will enable the charity to provide support for around 50 new individuals who need help rebuilding their confidence and wellbeing.
Reflecting on the partnership, Leigh Trimble from Red Balloons said:
“It’s been amazing to be Charity of the Year once again for Just Williams, not least because we could spend time with the wonderful team. We’ve had a brilliant year, from attending their Conference at Wynyard Hall through to the Everest Expedition Challenge in April. We’ve had support in the office, ran monthly Walk and Talk sessions around Tees Barrage and tested our fitness on our favourite hill, Roseberry Topping. The whole year has been great from start to finish.
This amazing team have raised £8,305 in total for us. That’s an incredible amount. Last year, supporting an individual with their mental health cost us £164. What Just Williams has raised ensures we can offer support to 50 new individuals. They really are a force for good. Thank you.”
We are incredibly proud of what has been achieved together over the last year, but more importantly, we are grateful for the opportunity to support an organisation making such a meaningful difference to people’s lives.
A huge thank you to everyone who has donated, attended events, taken part in challenges, sponsored activities and supported our fundraising efforts throughout the year.
This may mark the end of our formal Charity Partner of the Year relationship, but we know the connection between Just Williams and Red Balloons will continue long into the future.
Thank you, Red Balloons
