Case Study: Events & Community

Just Williams & Refugee Futures

We are honoured to work alongside Refugee Futures, a local Stockton-on-Tees charity dedicated to helping refugees and people seeking asylum feel welcome, included, and fully integrated into the community.

Our relationship has developed into a mutual partnership, in which we have delivered sales training to them in order to help expand their reach and generate more relationships like ours, while they have in turn provided our team with a Working Across Cultures training session, to help reinforce the importance of cultural awareness in our work.

“Just Williams has been an open and collaborative partner as we expand our Skillsmatch project into the private sector. They have willingly engaged in the process every step of the way, encouraging us to deliver training and learning sessions to ensure they are actively meeting their inclusion targets. Jessica and the team at Just Williams have offered expert guidance and sector knowledge which has been key for us in supporting refugees keen to explore careers in business. To date our developing partnership has proven to be effective and productive in matching a skilled candidate with a welcoming organisation that is determined to enact its commitment to diversity and inclusion.”

Refugee Futures

We also had the privilege of interviewing several of their clients. One standout individual was Kebede, a highly skilled marketing professional originally from Ethiopia, with experience in China and across the UK. Kebede joined us on a short-term placement and brought fresh, strategic marketing insight to our team. He also took part in our team strategy day, where we reflected on the year past and set our business plan for the next three years.

We’re incredibly proud that Kebede has since been reunited with his family here in the UK and is now in full-time employment. It was a privilege to be part of his journey.

Thank you to Refugee Futures for walking alongside us in this journey. Together, we can help create a more inclusive and equitable community led by shared purpose and genuine connection.

“Working with Just Williams was a fantastic opportunity, and I’m very grateful to Refugee Futures for the placement. The company’s progressive vision and dedication are truly inspiring, and the team’s cooperative spirit and readiness to help made it easy to feel like a part of the team right away. They helped me integrate fast and get to know the work environment, and I’m so appreciative of the entire experience.”
